Price per Linear Foot: Composite Decking

  • Fiberon Good Life Collection (Good) $4.76 PLF

  • Fiberon Sanctuary Collection (Better) $5.29 PLF

  • Fiberon Concordia Collection (Best) $7.67 PLF

Keep in mind that most deck builders and contractors consider deck building the best “MARGIN” for profit. They usually align the material costs with labor expenses, maintaining a 1:1 ratio. For instance, if materials amount to $10,000, the total cost of the deck would be $20,000. Deck builders and contractors typically secure materials from reliable sources, add a markup of 15-20 percent, and then equate that total with their labor charges. While this pricing strategy may appear steep, the expenses involved in insuring a crew, managing their payroll, licensing a sales agent, and ensuring a profit margin are substantial within today’s market environment.

Expansion and Heat Transfer

One of the notable advantages of Fiberon composite decking is its stability in varying temperatures. Unlike traditional wood, which can expand, contract, and warp with changes in weather, Fiberon's composite material remains stable. This reduces the risk of gaps and buckling over time. Additionally, Fiberon decking has been engineered to minimize heat transfer, making it comfortable to walk on even on hot summer days. This feature is particularly beneficial for families with children or pets.

Fiberon Good Life Composite Decking (GOOD) $4.76 per linear foot

QUALITY: Good Life decking is priced affordably and offers a variety of classic multi-tonal and solid hues, perfect for creating a casual outdoor living space with a natural wood appearance. The Escapes Collection features multi-tonal colors that mimic exotic hardwoods, while the Weekender Collection offers solid colors for a traditional stained deck look.

The durable composite core of Good Life decking resists splintering, rotting, cracking, insects, and decay. A three-sided cap layer helps prevent staining and fading. Boards never require sanding, staining, or painting - simply clean with soap and water or a mild cleaner.

Good Life decking is made from 96% recycled materials, combining recycled wood with the long-lasting resilience of recycled plastic. A Fire-rated version is available for added protection against fire damage and reduced flame spread (excluding Cabana).

The Escapes Collection is backed by a 30-year performance, stain, and fade warranty, while the Weekender Collection is backed by a 25-year warranty for performance, stain, and fade resistance.

Fiberon Sanctuary (Better) $5.29 per linear foot

Quality: Sanctuary decking is not only beautiful but also easy to maintain, making your backyard a relaxing retreat. With bold, multi-tonal colors and rustic embossing, the boards are designed to complement each other and allow for unique design options like picture-framing and borders. The durable composite core resists splintering, rotting, cracking, insects, and decay, while the three-sided PermaTech cap layer provides superior protection and fade resistance. These boards never need sanding, staining, or painting - just clean with soap and water or a mild cleaner. Made with 95% recycled materials, Sanctuary combines the sustainability of recycled wood with the durability of recycled plastic. The flat-profile bottom gives a traditional lumber feel, and a Fire-rated version is available for added protection. Backed by a 40-year performance, stain, and fade warranty.

Fiberon Concordia Collection (Best) $7.67 per linear foot

Quality: Concordia premium PE composite decking offers a blend of classic and modern colors and grain patterns, along with exceptional performance. It is available in three collections: Astir, Horizon, and Symmetry.

The Astir Collection boasts a rustic cathedral grain and three nature-inspired multi-tonal hues. The Symmetry Collection features a low-gloss formula and micro-texturing for a wire-brushed finish. The Horizon Collection showcases a sweeping cathedral grain with dramatic streaking to mimic exotic hardwoods.

The durable composite core of Concordia resists splintering, rotting, cracking, insects, and decay. Its four-sided PermaTech cap layer provides superior protection and fade resistance. The boards require no sanding, staining, or painting, and can be easily cleaned with soap and water or a mild cleaner.

Concordia decking features a finished surface on both top and bottom, making it ideal for second-story decks. The reversible boards save time and money while reducing waste. With 94% recycled material, it combines recycled wood with the long-lasting resilience of recycled plastic.
